Students learn the difference between geometric and organic lines/shapes/forms. They draw a gemstone using geometric lines. Then they create a background using organic lines and shapes. Finally, using complimentary colors, they add color, specifically from a corner in the gem that goes from a strong hue to a light gradient, creating what looks like light refraction.
